Paul Matrosov is a Lead Counsel at K&A, focusing on the development, financing, and acquisition of complex infrastructure and energy projects. He has led numerous first-of-their-kind and award-winning transactions throughout the region, advising sponsors, project companies, lenders and Islamic financiers in the power (including renewables), infrastructure, oil and gas, petrochemical, telecoms, mining, and other industrial sectors.

Paul has particular expertise in export credit agency-backed financings, multilateral financings, and Islamic financings. His experience spans the entire project lifecycle, from company formation, shareholder and joint venture arrangements, to project development, financing, structuring, and revenue and operational contracts.

Recognized as a “Rising Star” by The Legal 500 for his market standing, Paul previously worked in the globally renowned Projects practice at Allen & Overy LLP (now A&O Shearman) in London. During that time, he was seconded to HSBC’s project and export finance division, working in both their London and New York offices.

Paul earned his J.D., B.C.L., and LL.M (distinction) from McGill University and is admitted to practice in England & Wales and Ontario (Canada).
